DONALD G. ORZESKE
Donald G. Orzeske has been actively engaged in the areas of insurance defense and civil litigation since 1984. He served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Stanley Miller on the Indiana Court of Appeals. Since beginning private practice, he has focused his career almost exclusively on civil litigation. He is one of the premier litigators and insurance defense attorneys in the State of Indiana, having handled over 2,500 civil actions with over 65 cases taken to jury trial resolution.
A native of Illinois, Don graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law, in Carbondale, Illinois in 1984. He served as research editor on the Southern Illinois University Law Journal in 1983 and 1984, and was a member of the National Moot Court Team during those same years. His publications include: Comparative Fault and Strict Products Liability - What Happens to the Product User's Failure to Discover or Inspect for Product Defects?, Journal of Products Liability, Vol. 8, pp. 283-300 (1985); Case notes - Constitutional Law - Municipal Ordinances. Village of Hoffman Estates v. Flipside, Hoffman Estates, Inc., 102 S. Ct. 1986 (1982), Southern Illinois University Law Journal, Vol. 1982/No.3. Don is married and has three children.
JENNIFER L. BLACKWELL
Jennifer L. Blackwell has been practicing law since 1996 in the areas of General Civil Litigation, Toxic Tort Litigation, Insurance Defense Litigation, Construction Litigation, Contract Disputes, Business Litigation and Real Estate dealings. She began her legal career with the Firm in 1996 and has developed her litigation practice during this time, to and including admission to practice before the United States Supreme Court. She was named partner to the Firm in January of 2000, and continues to expand her litigation practice. In her career to date, Jennifer has handled over 1,500 civil actions, has tried numerous cases to both bench and jury resolution, and has presented oral argument of defense positions in a wide variety of forums including the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Federal 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
A native of Liberty, Indiana, Jennifer attended Ball State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in 1993. She graduated Cum Laude from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis in 1996 . Jennifer and her family reside on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
Eric A. Laue
Eric A. Laue has been practicing law since 2004 and concentrates his practice in corporate and commercial litigation. He represents insurance companies and other businesses in both state and federal courts, handling a broad range of matters including insurance defense, insurance fraud, Major Case Investigations, Special Investigative Unit (SIU) litigation and coverage, general liability, first-party property claims, casualty and personal injury, premises liability, construction defect claims, trucking, non-subscriber injury claims, and complex tort and contract disputes.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Laue has handled more than 1,000 civil actions and has tried multiple cases to both bench and jury verdicts, many resulting in favorable defense outcomes. His experience reflects a practical, results-driven approach and a strong commitment to effective advocacy on behalf of his clients.
Mr. Laue joined the firm as a partner in 2026.
A native of Vincennes, Indiana, Mr. Laue earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Indiana University in 2001 and his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2004. While in law school, he was a member of the Dean’s List and participated in the Sixty Plus Elderlaw Clinic.
Mr. Laue resides in Zionsville, Indiana with his wife and two sons, where he is actively involved in the community and enjoys coaching youth sports.
Brenda Bickers
Brenda Bickers received her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of Illinois. Prior to working as a paralegal with the firm, Brenda worked 20+ years in the financial services Industry. She has two children, Theodora and Justin. While Brenda lives in Indianapolis and now refers to herself as a Hoosier, she grew up in central Illinois. Brenda enjoys cooking, reading, classic film, and is a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.
Lauren Maci
Lauren Maci holds a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from Purdue University and is a proud, lifelong Boilermaker. She began her career as the Public Relations Coordinator at Talladega Superspeedway before stepping away from the role after welcoming her first child. Lauren is now the Office Manager and Legal Accounting Bookkeeper at the firm.
Lauren and her husband, Robert, are proud parents of three children, RJ, Blaire and Bridget, who keep their schedules fun and full. Lauren loves supporting her kids in all their activities, from dance competitions to basketball games and tennis matches. Outside of family and work, Lauren enjoys going to the movies, playing tennis, and traveling -especially to Walt Disney World, a favorite family destination.
Carson Gadd
Carson Gadd is a 3rd year law student at IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in 2023 and currently serves as our Clerk. He is a member of the law school’s honor society and has previous clerking experience in products liability and business litigation. Carson enjoys spending time outdoors, playing golf, and supporting Indiana football.
Max Tricker
Max Tricker is currently enrolled in the Miller College of Business at Ball State University. He has plans to attend law school directly after earning his undergraduate degree. Max is currently serving as a legal intern with the Firm, and enjoys playing badminton, spending time with friends, and listening to music.
